3 Hours and 3 Lovelies

My good friend Dacia has given me this great idea.
Both she and I have two Sweet Peas and two Buddies.  She had a Sweet Pea, I had a Sweet Pea, She had a Sweet Pea, I had a Sweet Pea, I had a Buddy, She had a Buddy, I had a Buddy, She had a Buddy.

And so here we are.
Stealing each other's children's genders and stealing each other's ideas.
And I proudly take this idea.  Because I am doing my part to own it, too.

Here is her idea:  once a month, she is planning on taking her two Sweet Peas out to do something fun with just mommy.

Brilliant!

I have the most brilliant friends.

I know it's not rocket science, and it's not taking them individually for one on one dates.  This is what we can do and this is what we are doing. There you have it.

So I took  MY Sweet Peas (not Dacia's  because that would make no sense at all), and we went to the city of St. Paul.  The first thing we decided would be fun was to drive around the entire city looking for a parking space.  Because when there is free parking on the streets on Sunday, there is not going to be very many spaces.  So we drove and we drove.

Singing (to the tune of Dixieland),
"Oh, how I wish I could find a spot
to park my car and push the lock!
             Walk away!
             Walk away!
              Walk away!
              In St. Paul!
Oh, it's in St. Paul where I need to find
A spot to park and leave behind.
             Walk away!
             Walk away!
              Walk away!
              in St. Paul!

Finally, we parked in the ramp to Macy's.
Macy's had just closed.
Literally for good.
Well, I guess that's okay since we wanted free parking anyway and unintentionally we got it!  To get out of the ramp, though, was a bit creepy.  We didn't know how to get out to the street so we had to walk through the ramp where we had just driven.

Once we got out of the creepy ramp, we walked two blocks to the museum.  Oh, the humanity!  The misery!

Let me just say when you live in Minnesota and it's the middle of January, it's going to be cold (unless it is 2012).  And maybe, just maybe you should wear mittens and a hat.

Just saying it's an idea.

When we walked through the doors, we were greeted by a llama's behind!
That was an experience!

Have you ever been greeted by a llamabutt?  It's definitely an experience you don't need to live through!  Let me just say, when you see a llamabutt, it messes with your sense of direction. You don't know if you are supposed to go forward or backward.  You don't know where you are.  You aren't sure how to leave.

Just for reference in the future.

The rest of the afternoon went swimmingly.

Hour one:
Learning to dance the Chacarera with one Sweet Pea and trusting the other unwilling-to-participate Sweet Pea with the camera!

Hour two:

Helping ONLY my Sweet Peas with a craft.  I didn't have to figure out what to give the boys to do.  I didn't have to explain to the Buddies why they didn't get to make one.  I didn't have to feel like a strange mom letting my Buddies walk around wearing flowers in their hair.

My Sweet Peas were all mine or I was all theirs!

And my girls are beautiful if I do say so myself.

Hour three:
A Walk back to the car in the bitter cold.
A stop in Target.
SAMPLES in Target on a SUNDAY?  It was our day!  Just for us!

What a lovely 3 hours for 3 Lovelies!
