How to Get Caught In the Rain

We had just stuffed ourselves full of carnitas. Oh, and were they good carnitas.  Add a little lime juice and a little sour cream and cheese?
Perfection.  Absolute perfection.
And since it was the perfection meal for the 4 of us who are unabashedly carnivorous, we may have become a bit gluttonous.
So
After the birthday boy had opened his presents.
And after the rest of the Sweet Peas & Buddies oohed and aahed over his haul--I am making it sound like he got a lot; he got 2 trains--3 out of the 4 adults attending the celebration agreed that it was time for a walk.

Three out of the four Sweet Peas & Buddies wholeheartedly agreed since a walk for the adults meant that it was a bike ride for them.
So we left birthday boy home with his daddy and his trains, and the rest of us walked out into the evening air.

Did I mention that it was sprinkling?
Because it was.
Sprinkling, that is.

This did not stop the excited bike riders or the overly stuffed adults. Sprinkles are fun!  We just crossed the road and were off.  The bike riders yards ahead of us while we chatted and strolled through the evening mist.

We had gone about a 1/4 mile when I decided that maybe we should turn around.

Adult 1 -- You know, it's not raining that hard yet.  This has been a nice walk.

Adult 2 -- Yeah, I know, but they are pretty far ahead of us.  We should probably just start the process of turning around.

Adult 1 --I suppose.

Adult 3 -- I think it's starting to rain harder.

Adult 1 -- Now that you mention it.

Adult 3 -- Oh, yeah.  It's definitely raining harder.

As we were standing there waiting for the bike riders to come back, the sky opened up.  And we were being pelted.  The rain was soaking through our layers and working itself up our pant legs to our knees.  When the Sweet Peas & Buddies passed us on their way back home, we turned on our heels and followed them as fast as we could!

Adult 2 -- The rain is going UP MY NOSE!

Adult 1 -- I'm so glad I've got eyebrows.

(random I know!)

Adult 3 -- HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Adult 2 -- You know what Chris is going to say when we get back?  He's going to say, "Did you like your walk?"  And then laugh at us.

And that's what he did! Then, we all cracked up, put the Sweet Peas & Buddies to bed, and played Dominion!
